How this calculator works
- Income tax: nothing on the first $18,200, then 15%, 30%, 37%, 45% for 2026-27.
- Low income tax offset: up to $700 off your tax if you earn under $66,667.
- Medicare levy: 2% of taxable income (less for low incomes).
- HELP: repaid through your pay once you earn over $69,528.
- Super: your employer pays 12% on top of your pay. It does not reduce your take-home.

Frequently asked questions
What are the tax rates for 2026-27?
0% up to $18,200, 15% to $45,000, 30% to $135,000, 37% to $190,000 and 45% above. The 16% rate fell to 15% on 1 July 2026.
Does super come out of my pay?
No. Your employer pays 12% super on top of your salary, unless your package says it includes super.
When do I start repaying HELP in 2026-27?
When your repayment income is over $69,528. You repay 15% of the income above that amount.
