What is the standard deduction for 2026?
$16,100 for single filers, $32,200 for married couples filing jointly and $24,150 for heads of household.
How much is FICA tax?
6.2% Social Security on wages up to $184,500, plus 1.45% Medicare on all wages. An extra 0.9% Medicare applies above $200,000 (single) or $250,000 (married filing jointly).
Does this include state income tax?
Yes. Pick your state to include state income tax and state payroll taxes such as SDI or paid family leave. City and county income taxes are not included.
Why is my paycheck different?
Your employer withholds tax based on your W-4, which may not match your final tax bill. Health insurance, HSA and other pre-tax deductions, local taxes and bonuses also change what lands in your account.
